These photographs were received in October of 2002. The lady who graciously shared them with us stated, "I'm writing because my husband and I just found two photos of the aftermath of the explosion among some photos that my husband's grandmother had left in her home after she moved to a nursing home."

She continued with additional information. "My husband's maternal grandfather, Aubrey Boyd, was in charge of the Lone Star Gas camp in Cayuga from 1935 until the late 1960s. His crews laid pipe mostly in West Texas."

A follow-up email stated, "My mother-in-law says that she and her mother did not go with her father on this trip; he traveled alone to see the damage. She says she was too young to remember much other than the somber aftermath of the explosion in and around the community."
