Less than an hour and a half after the explosion the Salvation Army had begun the enormous task of providing food and beverages for those involved. Other organizations and individuals joined them and together a tremendous quantity food was prepared and served. In the first twenty-four hours over 36,000 sandwiches were provided, and during the time of rescue and recovery over 7,300 complete meals were served. Shown below are a few of the bills from vendors.
